Background

In 2020, K12 education was growing fast in China. Tons of budget poured into the market. Xueersi had already dominated middle and high school. Now they needed to break into early childhood English, Chinese, and logic skills for kids aged 2-8.

Insight

I was browsing Taobao&social media, not researching, I kept landing on listings for early learning toys. Messy product photos. Real kids holding flashcards. Parents sharing what their child learned that day.

It hit me: parents of young kids aren't anxious about exams yet. They're proud. They want to show off their kid's progress.

Nobody in the category was making creative content that looked like that.

What I did

Made the first version myself. One photo of a kid with flashcards. Copy in a parent's voice: "My daughter is 3 and already knows 1,000 words. ¥19 changed everything." No logo. No price banner. Looked like a group chat message, not an ad.

Then briefed the content team to scale English nursery rhymes filmed like home videos, Chinese character recognition, different pride angles for different parents.

Result

Competitors copied the format within months. It became the category template.
